Mr. Dowd is a Research Analyst on the Third Avenue Small-Cap Value Fund. Before joining Third Avenue, Mr. Dowd worked as a Vice President at MC Credit Partners LP where he was responsible for the diligence and execution of middle-market private equity investments. Prior to MC Credit, Mr. Dowd worked for five years as the Senior Credit Analyst for Aberdeen Standard’s Alternative Investment Group where he invested in a variety of debt and equity special situations. Mr. Dowd began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Jefferies.

Mr. Dowd holds B.S. degrees in both Finance and Accounting, with honors, from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
